Couple Of The Year

I'll probably regret posting this, but I feel compelled to weigh in on the whole Tom Cruise thing. I have never cared for him as an actor and his increasingly psychotic behavior (coinciding, ironically enough, with his increasingly manic anti-psychotic drug campaigning) is just pissing me off. I got this awesome and frightening image off a dead-on illustrated transcript of Tom's most recent debacle on the Today Show: http://youcantmakeitup.blogspot.com/2005/06/cruise-uncontrollable.html

I am utterly grossed out by his "relationship" with poor, naive, brainwashed Katie Holmes, and also by his relentless promotion of $cientology. Another site worth looking into:

www.xenu.com (this is an anti-$cientology website)

Just the Time magazine article alone (from 1993!) is enough to scare the bejeezus out of you, and it eerily predicts the kind of erratic cultlike behavior as shown by Tom Cruise. This needs to STOP NOW!!!

Welcome Mara Pedersen!

Since this week is the week commemorating the 17th anniversary of our week at Science World, I took another stab at trying to find some of our fellow campers. I hit the jackpot on http://www.reunion.com, where through searching the Class of 1992 rosters of Wisconsin high schools, I found Jodi Malek, Darren Johnson, and the one-and-only Chad Carlson himself! So far, Darren has already responded (see his great picture and email below-- happy belated birthday!) and I am so grateful! Giddy from my victory, I recklessly took a stab at Google-- and I managed to track down Mara Pedersen, who has her own interior design firm (http://www.patinadesign.com) and she responded immediately: Lisa-UNBELIEVABLE... Yes... I am the Mara from Science World... Funny thing... I was just telling my friend about you the other day...literally a week ago... telling him how I used to get these phenomenal letters from you and how much I wish I could track you down... Wow...I only have two minutes now, but will definitely check out the link and get back to you again...Made any silly putty lately? Mara I am so thrilled to have found these two, and we can only hope that the All-Comedy One will eventually grace us with his presence.

Welcome Darren Johnson!!!!

Hey Lisa- Wow I'm not quite sure how to start this e-mail other than "wow, it's great to hear from you and thanks for taking the time to track me down." It's been about 15 years since we last communicated and it's sure great that you got a hold of me. I looked around you guys' blog and found it to be incredibly entertaining; nice job with it. It's great to see that you, Aimee, and Andy are still such good friends. From what I did see I have to say I'm impressed that you and your husband have started your own theater company. When I read that I found it amazing because Andy was the one that got you into theater if I recall correctly and look how that interest has become such a big part of your life. I think it's really great and I want to offer you my congratulations. As for me I live in Milwaukee, the place you lived in when we first met, and just finished up with my master's in Dec. with a degree in HR and Labor Relations. Still looking for a job so I work at a bank and just like everyone else in the work world has good days and bad days. I'm personally looking forward to this new challenge that lies ahead of me and can't wait to see where it takes me. Anyhoo enough babbling. I just wanted to say hi, "Hi" and say thank you. Interesting enough I received your note on my birthday and I have to say surprise presents are the best. Anyway it was great to hear from you drop me a line so that we can catch up; 15 is a long time and a lot has happened to both of us. Looking forward to hearing from you. Take Care, Darren P.S. I attached a picture of myself so that you can see that I've changed a little bit

Swatch out!

I have the perfect thing for you to wear with your new Swatch (this may come as a surprise to no one, but I haven't bought anything other than a Swatch since 1987)... I just won this off of eBay! Post a picture if you can, Aimee, and welcome back, we missed you. Posted by Hello

Yes, I still exist!

Since no one else seems excited about it and I know you guys will be, I have to share my big purchase news with you:

I JUST BOUGHT A NEW SWATCH WATCH!!!

Yes, I wish it were 1989 again and they were in style, but you know what? The mall didn't have one watch as cool as the ones at swatch.com, so here I am with one.

Now if only I could find one of those sweatshirts with handprints all over it......

Hee Hee. "Titular."

Good news for those who were concerned (probably just me and Andy):

Tue Jun 07, 8:43 PM ET
Being Bonaduce is back on track. So is its titular star.

Partridge Family survivor Danny Bonaduce has pronounced himself sober after finishing a month-long stint in rehab.

The red-headed funnyman returned to his day job Monday on Southern California radio powerhouse Star 98.7, where he cohosts a morning radio show.

Additionally, production on his upcoming VH1 reality series, Being Bonaduce, will ramp up after being backburnered in early May to allow its 45-year-old subject to dry out.

However, it looks like production continued at a nice clip throughout Bonaduce's rehab stay: The yakker took a ribbing Monday morning from his radio show cohost Jamie White and several callers for his revelation that he let a VH1 camera crew into the facility during his brief visitation hours with his children.

The sobriety-challenged Bonaduce defended his actions by saying that's who he really is.

Welcome back Danny! We love you!
